Thread: Official database errors thread

  1. #1

    Default Official database errors thread

Although the majority of the errors have gone away, it seems that there are certain conditions which trigger problems. We need the help of the C2E community to track these errors down and hopefully keep the forums healthy as we grow in popularity. To that end, I would like to ask that any database errors that you encounter be posted in this thread (as it seems the errors only really show up when I am not around).

This thread will only be used to post information about a specific error at a specific time to see if we can discern a pattern. Any other kinds of posts will be deleted. There are three pieces of information I would like to be posted when you notice an error:

    - Date of error
    - Approximate time of error
    - Number of users on at the time of error

    Thanks,

    Friendly Neighborhood Administrators

Sigh...I think I might have to start posting on SSP before I permanently damage my mouse out of frustration.

    All,

There was a recent patch released for our software. We believe that this is one of the causes of the most recent instability as folks are trying to break in as well as perform other actions. Welcome to popularity. We are applying and tuning as I type.

We are also moving to some newer servers within the next short while. Please be patient with us as we perform this migration. Hopefully it won't take too long, but we need to finalize some transfer agreements with our current ISP/host.

We appreciate your concern and your continued partonage.

Time as stamped on post and the 10 minutes prior.

No thoughts of mouse smashing though... I just gave up and went to other sites...

Whenever I try to connect to C2E by going to www.connect2edmonton.ca, I get the following message:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    ----

But if I type in a different address connecting me to any other C2E page, it works just fine. I just thought I would give the C2E admin a heads-up.

^ Thanks for letting us know. This is a known issue and we are trying to work out what exactly is going on... it is proving a bit elusive though.

No problem... I'm just glad I figured out another way to get into C2E when that msg appears.

Anyone else having problems with pages showing up as blank or getting a "database error" page?

Problem looks to have been fixed. Every page I went to came in clean and fast.

Edit: Had one page that I had to keep refreshing in order to open, so I guess it probably hasn't been solved.
