    Thanks norwoodguy.

And another great photo essay on Spacing from Tom Young:

I use a Pentax K-5. The prime lenses have this amazing ability to shoot directly into the sun with rarely any bad effects.

I thought the shine on the car added a second starburst.

Very nice ian, but are you able to kill the time stamp out of your photos because that is the only thing that kills photos like this.

Not by my count, one on Sunday night and one on Monday night. The clock on the posts is off but it still says today (which it wasn't) and yesterday. I wouldn't break the rules.

Nice car Ian.. next time when you part out please give me dibs on your seats before you trade it in on something super cool.

Voice, I love your pictures. how did you isolate the pink and make everything else black and white? Obviously some sort of post processing involved. Ignore supermallcop darkie, he thinks he's god or something.

I should start carrying my camera around more when I'm on the bike, but I'm scared it'll get damaged.

A little known feature of NIK Silver Effex Pro is that with a control point you can return an area to its original colour.

Sweet pic. I think Edmonton area counts here, since the forum discusses regional issues quite a bit. If someone has a cool picture taken in Stony Plain, Leduc, etc,, ie the Edmonton Capital Region, they should be able to post here, at least in my opinion

Edit: Oh, unless you meant that close up one of the house lol, I felt like that would be cheating too since its still the same rainbow and just a close up of the same shot xD

The current city boundary is about 3.5km from that barn. The actual city (South Windermere) starts about 6 km from that barn.

That is my regular cycling route. Basically from Ellerslie Rd to the T intersection where you'd turn to go to Rabbit Hill and back.

Ack 3.5 this just depresses me more now. And you speaking about the 4 way that leads to eather the model airplane landing strip to the west, and the rv park to the east correct?

that would be the one. It also leads to Chappelle Gardens to the East, which is right up against that road. But this is not the thread to be discussing these matters.

I have my own web page at www.photographsbyglen.com but nothing has changed there. Occasionally a box becomes unchecked in Lightroom so that must be it but in this case I used a preset so the size was fixed at a normal, or as far as I can recall it was. It rarely happens as the last one was of a winter street posted on the previous page.

You would be right drumbones. Mr. hiller let me go take the black and white shot, but my bike broke as i came out of that field lol, so i got a ride back into town with him and asked him about the sprawl that is coming his way. I learned that most of the farm land around him has been sold or is up for sale, and also learned that barn was actually a grainery back in the 30's if i remember right.

Not sure what the name of this building on 98th street just north of 107A Ave is but it is an island of period architecture in a sea of empty lots and urban stagnation. But no less beautiful in the light of the late day sun and worthy of appreciation.

^That's the Hagmann Block, which is celebrating its centennial this year. Not sure if there is/was a building name and/or date somewhere on the building. Not sure about the "Hotel Grand" history.

I'll try to post a notice of the opening if they did a story back then.

^Thanks for all the information. I know that the building has been discussed here before but I couldn't remember its name.

BTW, I like the colour and composition of your photo. The sunlight hitting the stairs against the shade of the building looks great and I'm not sure if that's a reflection in that one ground floor window (in the middle of the photo) but that's a lot of shades of red and yellow in a small area.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the picture. I especially liked being able to capture the fire escape on the side of the building.

I have often passed by here usually in a car and not fully appreciated the building.

Thanks Norwoodguy ... now you've let this little gem of a secret out of the bag we'll get NO privacy!

    Great shot though.
