    Default Best Soup In Edmonton?

My personal fav is the beef satay soup from Than than.

The tomato bisque at Famoso is not bad either.

    Anything else come close?

    Bisque ?

    Oh-la-la !

    Quelle panache !

Top_Dawg often has the soup & bun in the sit down area at Sobey's.

    Uh...pardon Top_Dawg.

    That's Bee-stro on Jasper.

Alway delicious and at least two different kinds.

    Weekdays sometimes up to four.

Which is good because Top_Dawg iz never stuck with only a cream soup option which is often the case at Save-on where they only have one kind daily.

    Dunno why they do that.

Not that cream soups are bad.

    Just that Top_Dawg's big gut doesn't lik'em.

There used to be a soup place on Rice Howard Way on the other side of the alley of the Telus building.. I loved the soup there, but they shut down some time ago...

    Soul soup was decent.

I still think that veggie soup at Free Press is solid.

You can still get Soul Soup, you just have to go to MRKT on Jasper & 106 Street. Same chef & recipes!

I may have to take back my submission for Wicked Thai at Press'd. They changed the name and recipe but isn't quite as good anymore.

I should never have watched those kitchen nightmare shows, where it turns out restaurants famous for their soups are sometimes just dishing out a can of Campbell's tarted up with some extras.

Best soups are homemade. Not even close.

Also how could best not include any wild game soups? C'mon people. Normands has this occasionally. Also the Mac on occasion.

Other local cuisine mentions have to include Borscht, which properly done is fantastic.

While were on Canadian classic ethnic traditional soups one can't ignore French Canadian pea soup.

    Or any clam chowder.

As with any topic it seems we've gotten away from classics and gone to whatever the current rage is with 20 people posting about Asian noodle soups and nothing else. Kind of sad because as a food I would rather have any of the former than soups loaded with salt and msg.

I take back my take back! They brought back the Wicked Thai a while ago and it's on the menu almost every day.
