I'm not sure where the Jarvis building is located. Is it the glass building across the street from the Matrix where the Blue Cross is? I was thinking East of the Financial building.

Financial building was an add on to the existing office tower.

Jarvis is just north of the Augustana site.

And I think Petroleum Plaza was one of the last site in the area or the one west of the Blue Cross buildings.

Thanks. I knew about the Financial building because I worked in that building for two years.

I wasn't guessing and have been chatting with John/Kevin over the last few weeks/months with regular updates including this past Thursday to get an update. But sure, if you have 'the date', please do share.

Hey, the Augustana is ~ 180 meters away from the Arlington site. Both locations begin with the letter A, just sayin

Probably a reference to the "here we go" in June and it's now late September and the site hasn't changed much. These things take time but each time someone says any day then nothing happens people will fear the worst.

Steel has been sitting there for months. Still going forward, but they had a financing and crane swing issue. I would expect it to go forward in the next couple of months.

It's simply called The Augustana at this point. I don't think that there's much intention on changing that. But who knows when some pointy headed marketing people get involved.

Not sure where to post this but since its close to the Augustina my sources are telling me the Financial building down the street is modifying many of its upper floors for apartment living.

Interesting. A year (or two) ago the Government of Alberta had to move some offices out of that building because the building would not renew their lease. I was wondering if some kind of redevelopment was in the works because otherwise why would you turn away a long-time stable tenant like the Government of Alberta.

^ Another benefit to shutting down the Muni. Its nice to see this area getting some love.

When construction starts on the project by 100th & 103rd, this area is going to get really busy .

Be great if Admin would add the number of floors and height of the building in thread title 😀. This is a great development and might kickstart the development in the numerous parking lots in the area.

This with Symphony and Hendrix will truly give that sector a fresh look.

Thank you for the Augustana photo updates IanO. This project needs a construction camera too!

I keep forgetting this building is 30-storeys. It will have quite a presence.

We got Encore going up nearby, this project, MacLaren, and yet the old Arlington location lays dormant.

You do know I'm only one Report Post or PM away, right? As per height, your post above tells me that hasn't been finalized. I'll modify then.

That hole seems deeper than the average one downtown. Am I crazy?

I'm not a psychologist, but it's fairly typical of the other recent towers.

Designers need the depth for proportional parking of the new, typically taller towers downtown unlike during the airport restriction era.

Almost looks like carbon copy of Encore's - same contractor too, I believe...

Different developer, architect and structural engineer though. Along with condos VS rentals. And I believe a lower stall to suite ratio. Not a lot of commonalities at all, really.

Sure, but a lot of ways to get to more or less the same place. Original Augustana discussion document showed 158 stalls on five levels of parking and Encore's original disclosure documents showed 162 stalls on five levels of parking (of course, both have changed since then somewhat but not SO different). Encore taller, Augustana more suites per floor, different stall to suite ratios adding up about the same in the end but regardless none of that was the discussion topic.

I was simply pointing out that the taller buildings on a particular sized lot(s) allowed since the airport restrictions were dropped necessitate the typically deeper parking garage. That Augustana's excavation simply looks a lot like Encore's is a purely amateur comment but I still think it's true !
