well, i'll be damned! i don't think i have ever seen Edmonton offered as a prize on that show before, and i have watched, off and on, for the last 30 years! but she absolutely has to come in the summer when it's beautiful and green. she should come down when the festivals are happening, best time! also cycle the river valley park system if she gets a chance. and don't miss the Pyramids or WEM !!
Thank You For Finally Going Higher!
All that I can say is that there better be someone there to be a tour guide.

Gone............................and very quickly forgotten may I add.
On a somewhat related note, the Price is Right model who accidentally gave away a car is appearing at Knoxvilles tonight.

No offense to the city I call home and love, but if there's no planned attractions along with the hotel stay, she'll be sorely disappointed. I really hope she's a construction buff. At the very least, I hope she can go home and say how friendly we are, and how much much is being built here.

I hope Edmonton Tourism didn't sponsor the prize
'The Price is Right' contestant rejects Edmonton hotel prize

“I declined the hotel, and opted to tour Banff, Jasper, and Lake Louise in a rented RV. Sure I have to pay for it (except the airfare), but traveling to beautiful places is something my husband and I love (sic),” she wrote.

the prize and her rejection has been getting a lot of national press
To me her reasons for not taking the hotel package were totally acceptable.
Nothing personal, Edmonton, she claims.

I can understand her passing up a city to see the Rockies instead. For a lot of people it may just be the one chance they get in their lifetime.
I'm sure if I was given a chance of a trip I would pick the Grande Canyon rather than Detroit.

^ Yup, around the world any brochures you see on Alberta (and in many cases, Canada) on travel agents' shelves invariably have a picture of the Rockies on the cover.

I don't blame her either but I agree the rejection of the Edmonton portion of the trip looks bad. Better idea would have been to package Edmonton stay with one of our great festivals and then send them off to Jasper for a few days in the mountains. Edmonton's river valley is beautiful but alas she will never get to find that out now.
Oh...they still exist. Saw 2 sets on the whitemud today.
I'm not surprised at this turn of events. The picture was of the mountains, the hotel is NOT there. The whole set up is misleading.
Plus, most Americans see us as the arrogant worrms song "rocks and trees...and water".

This woman should be given 2 choices ... take it or leave it.
Edmonton Rocks Rocks Rocks
Oh please, 5 nights in Edmonton, or 5 nights in Banff and Jasper is a no-brainer. What the bleep would you do here for 5 nights? This is not a knock on Edmonton either, I feel the same way about any Canadian city that I've visited.
Despite the funny packaging, I'm glad things worked out for her.
but traveling to beautiful places is something my husband and I love
Thats a kick in the nuts to the old civic pride right there.

it is what it is......
Give it a rest mate... The festivals are at best generic, and the river valley is essentially a landscaped drainage ditch.
She took the flight portion of the prize and then paid out of her own pocket to go to the mountains rather than come to Edmonton... Dress it up any way you want, this story is hysterical.
