Default Uccellino (Daniel Costa's 3rd restaurant)

The space next to Bar Bricco is coming along very nicely. They just took down some of the window covers to reveal the name on the door and a "U" design on the main window. Space is much larger than Corso. Their twitter handle is @UccellinoYEG for those interested.

Anybody heard any updates on when they're supposed to open? The website initially said 'March'.
Its so beautiful. What sort of bird is that?

They've put a new sign up, nice, red and simple. Sorry no pics.

Also, for those wanting a sneak peak at the resto... (it isn't cheap though)

Food was very good. Service was a little slow, but I will take in to account the growing pains of a new restaurant. However based on their reputation, I still expect better.

Pastas are good and flavorful. Hard to believe that its dry pastas and not fresh. Appetizer items were so so.. example, the beef carpaccio wasn't great.

How can they screw up cold cuts ?

    Buy them at the deli.

    Throw'em on a plate.

    And that'll be $40 sir.

    Odd.

^Can't wait to go to your restaurant. I kinda imagine something like Wilensky's in Montreal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilensky%27s)

I would love to see a Wilensky's type restaurant open downtown.

That's one alright. And the title of this thread reveals what some might consider an imbalance in the present downtown restaurant offerings.
