Default Edmonton - dragons, wontons, churches, gelato and downtown - Part 1

We went on another long walk, this time east of Downtown to Louise McKinney Park along the river, back up through Chinatown/Quarters, up Church Street, over to Little Italy and back through the Downtown.

    Great photos, Ian.

What's the big glass structure behind the red-brick building with the Pepsi ad? In the 29th photo, I believe.

Underlying decay and rust, with a hint of urban renewal, bisected by a glorious belt of green, and populated with a nascent expectation of vibrancy. Arise and reveal your true self, Edmonton!

    Nice pictures Ian. Squirrel approves.

Would be interesting to try to capture the Hyatt and Gibson block from a vantage point just east if that's possible. Its hard to frame both in same picture but that would look spectacular.

lol at the donut truck at the marathon finish line.

    Donuts!!!!!

ps is that new sculpture right by the Hyatt? The one with the animal heads. Looks interesting, have to check that one out sometime.

pps "Dream, love, hope, PREY" Given the location I hope that's not an intentional misspelling.. Its within meters of a church, you figure they would get that spelling right.

Where is that pathway with two rows of planted trees? Somewhere in the Quarters? Louise McKinney Park?

Follow the river facing sidewalk from SCC to Grierson and that's where you'll find it. Its a nice zen place but its always occupied.
