Default Edmonton Quotient - new media outlet

“You have to dream big. If we want to be a little city, we dream small. If we want to be a big city, we dream big, and this is a big idea.” - Mayor Stephen Mandel, 02/22/2012

Awesome ideals, hopefully they take some cues from other profitable models too. Not to totally disolve the content in ads, and top ten lists, but something that can actually pay the writers.

    Will definitely support this.

    Other profitable models ?

    Are there any ?

How many of these has Top_Dawg watched fail over the last ten years ?

Nevertheless, Top_Dawg wishes them all the best.

^ Yeah, I guess I'm talking "clickbait", but don't make clickbait, just learn from it. I think adjusting to a "cell-phone-attention-span" (but clicking for full article) is kinda what I'm imagining.

I remember there was a model in South Korea that seemed to be working - writers got most of the ad revenue they generated - but it's been so long since I've lived there, I can't remember what it's called anymore. There could be others.

The Korean independent news site I was thinking is:

    http://www.ohmynews.com/

Wikipedia has a very dated overview here:
