    Goodbye subsidized daycare.

    UCP denying that claim:

They’re committing to not sinking the existing pilot while being very careful to dance around the continued future of the plan, including the expansion the NDP had planned.

UCP weasel words, just like their dancing around education funding & conversion therapy.

The UCP also denies doing anything wrong during the leadership campaign.

The UCP is letting the project go until the Fed money runs out & then they'll "re-evaluate".

Given they've already taken $23M from schools to give to the NG producers, I don't really see the continuation (much less the planned expansion) of subsidized child care as being compatible with their "companies first, people last" ethos.

Any idea what happened to McKay avenue park? Brought my nephew there a few days ago and he enjoyed the playground. Last night he cried when he saw it fenced off.

They came back to do additional coatings/paint/sealer on the rubberized surface and replace some of the dead grass. Should be open again right away.

Should be bubble wrap on all those poles..

I keep thinking this playground is a sordid April Fools day joke.

What kid would be brought to this playground and think "we're getting ripped for a playground here, this is pathetic"

Then the kid is told "this is the only playground in DT Edmonton, learn to love it"

Cue more family exodus to the burbs.

Twas a very cute sight this morning.

Three families with 2 each were having a picnic in Dick Mather and playing on the new playground.
