Racism, and racist comments are wrong, period. It doesn't matter which side the comments come from. If only you'd figure that out...

You realize that ANTIFA is short for Anti-Fascist right, and there really is no such thing as 'far left', like there is with the far right...

No, there is a far left, and most Antifa are on it. They include hold-over campus communists and people who think mob violence is an acceptable tactic as long as the goals are leftist.

There's always people on the extremes on any political/ideological spectrum. If you can't find the extreme you either aren't looking or the so-called moderate has drifted to absorb it and if that's the case stay the heck away.

Also, the mask-wearing, riot-causing, and fire-starting Bolshevik-like thugs on the far-left are absolutely extremist. And if you refuse to call them out you have no business calling out extremists on the other side.

    Trump thugs?

Presumably you are trying to conflate neo-nazis, white supremacistss, KKK and their ilk with Trump supporters. If so, I as well as every other conservative poster on this forum have condemned and disavowed those far-right extremists numerous times (and still do).

Will the left also condemn their own extremist elements, or will they hypocritically only shame extremists on the opposite side and pretend their own don't exist?

According to his own standards he is not allowed to ever call out the left, since he has never called or the right, and even justifies their actions sometimes by saying the left is just as bad or worse.

He made the call to his son to sell the stock from the White House grounds. How's that for chutzpah?

Trump-loving GOP congressman gets arrested by the FBI on securities fraud charges

Specifically, the indictment alleges that Collins last year passed “material, nonpublic information” about Australian biotech firm Innate Immunotherapeutics to his son so he “could use that information to make timely trades in Innate stock and tip others.”

In total, the indictment alleges that the insider trading scheme helped the defendants “avoid over $768,000 in losses that they would have otherwise incurred if they had sold their stock in Innate” after the nonpublic information had been released.

Collins, who was one of President Donald Trump’s first congressional endorsers, has been under scrutiny for the last year for potential insider trading of shares of Innate Immunotherapeutics, a company where Collins himself is the largest majority shareholder.

Nice of Ingraham to just come out and say that what she "loves" about America isn't the ideals upon which it was founded but it's ethnic make-up and allotment of power and wealth to her ethnicity. Thanks for clearing that up, Laura.

Migrant woman and her child are being represented in court by the ACLU to prevent their deportation. The government had agreed not to deport them until tomorrow at the earliest. However, during the hearing, the ACLU found out that the Trump administration had loaded them onto a plane and that the plane was in the air. The judge ordered that the plane be turned around mid-flight and threatened to hold Sessions in contempt.

Judge orders migrants returned to US in midst of deportation flight

Washington D.C. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan was hearing a request to stay the plaintiffs’ deportations, when the ACLU learned that two of them were already on a flight to Central America, the civil rights group said.

Upon hearing the news, Sullivan ordered their flight returned and suggested that Sessions could be held in contempt of court, according to the ACLU.

The Rust Belt is done with Donald Trump's gold-plated populism
    https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.usat.../amp/926926002
Political scientist Josh Pacewicz argued that Trump’s popularity in the Rust Belt was the result of “undirected populist resentment at a technocratic, corporate-friendly elite.” The “corporate-friendly elite” might as well be the name of the Trump administration’s softball team, if they had ever heard of softball.

Trump’s policies have been precisely tailored to pleasure the richest. Under his tax law, businesses received nine times more in cuts than what they gave their workers and spent 37 times more on stock buybacks than on bonuses since the reforms became law, according to an April analysis by Americans for Tax Fairness. Now, Trump’s Treasury secretary has suggested that the administration may serve up $100 billion more in tax cuts that will go just to the richest of the richest, who just happen to include much of Trump’s Cabinet, family and big donors.

Predatory lenders and corporate criminals are getting lush new protections while the Great Lakes are under attack. And if there is an economic boom going on, it’s flowing mostly to the sort of Americans who can pay a $200,000 initiation fee at Mar-a-lago — and-or Democrats.

An Associated Press analysis finds that 58.5 percent of the job gains from May of 2017 until this May were in counties that backed 2016 popular vote-winner Hillary Clinton. These are mostly the areas of the country that were doing pretty well under President Barack Obama.

Another one of Trump's "good people" won his primary.

‘Hitler was right’: KC area winner of Missouri House primary leaves trail of bigotry

On his Monday morning radio show, Steve West promotes fanatical conspiracies about “Jewish cabals” that are “harvesting baby parts” through Planned Parenthood, that torture and molest children and that run the Republican Party.

On Tuesday he won the Republican primary for a Clay County seat in the Missouri House by nearly 25 points.

“Looking back in history, unfortunately, Hitler was right about what was taking place in Germany. And who was behind it,” West said on a show on KCXL radio on Jan. 23, 2017.

West won the 15th District nomination in a four-candidate race by nearly 25 points. Besides his radio show, he also has a YouTube channel and a website. Donning a wig and fake beard and calling himself Jack Justice, he has unleashed an array of bigotry including homophobia, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and outright racism.

    ---

Pressed to clarify his Hitler comment, he questioned its validity until a reporter cited the date and time of the recording. West then said that he’d been taken out of context.

Trump's plan for Middle East peace. Instead of a comprehensive agreement, side with Israel on the issues one by one and then claim it's settled. It started with Jerusalem.

What Jared Kushner’s ‘deal of the century’ would mean for Palestinian refugees

Leaked emails from Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and appointed steward of the Israel-Palestine conflict, are shedding light on his planned “deal of the century” for peace in the Middle East. In extracts published by Foreign Policy magazine, Kushner proposes “disrupting” the work of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and ending the refugee status of 5m Palestinians across the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.

Although the emails have not been published in full, these snippets are highly revealing. Kushner’s move against UNRWA marks the next stage in the Trump administration’s plan. In January 2018 – the same month that Kushner sent these emails – Trump announced drastic cuts in US aid to UNRWA.

There are signs that defunding UNRWA is just the first stage of a much grander strategy; Kushner is also reportedly pressuring Jordan to strip the 2m Palestinians living there of their refugee status. But even taken on its own, dissolving the agency would have catastrophic consequences.

    ---

If UNRWA were dissolved while the refugees remained stateless, that would imply that the contentious question of their future and status had been resolved. On these grounds, the Palestinian Authority has condemned the Kushner plan as an attempt to remove refugees from the equation and erase their right of return, effectively denying them any chance of future citizenship in Israel-Palestine.

On the other side, critics of UNRWA – including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – contend that the agency perpetuates the Palestinian refugee crisis by supporting the refugees in their current situation rather than helping pursue a political solution, and by promoting anti-Israeli feeling. According to this view, the agency’s dissolution would improve prospects for peace.

The reality suggests the opposite. UNRWA is a product rather than a cause of the conflict, which will continue even if the agency is abolished. Stripping millions of people of basic welfare is more likely to heighten tensions than calm them. Israel would pay a price too; as an occupying power, it is legally obliged to safeguard the basic needs of the population living in areas it controls, but since UNRWA currently alleviates some of its obligations by providing essential services to 800,000 registered refugees in the West Bank and more than 1m in Gaza, the Israeli government is under far less pressure than it could be to take primary responsibility for their welfare.

I'm sure it's a total coincidence. BTW, $15,000/month = $180,000/year. Just for keeping their yap shut about Trump. Of course, none of that protects them from having to testify.

Trump’s former bodyguard is getting paid the exact same amount that was offered in Omarosa hush-money deal

"Friday’s bombshell report that former top staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman was offered $15,000 a month from the President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign to “stay silent” after being fired from the White House was flagged by two top political reporters for a fascinating coincidence.

Staff writer at The Atlantic and MSNBC contributor Natasha Bertrand and Washington Post senior political reporter Aaron Blake both noted another former White House staffer making the exact same amount as the alleged hush money offer.

“Huh. 15k per month is what Trump’s former bodyguard Keith Schiller has been getting from the RNC,” Bertrand tweeted, linking to a Business Insider report from February."

“That’s not what he said,” Setmayer replied. “We’re still debating this? There’s still a question that there are ‘fine people on both sides?'”

“The president was referring to the fact that there was violence on both sides,” Dennard claimed.

Reporter: Mr. President, are you putting what you're calling the alt-left and white supremacists on the same moral plane?
Trump: I'm not putting anybody on a moral plane. What I'm saying is this: You had a group on one side and you had a group on the other and they came at each other with clubs and it was vicious and it was horrible and it was a horrible thing to watch, but there is another side. There was a group on this side — you can call them the left, you've just called them the left — that came violently attacking the other group, so you can say what you want but that's the way it is.

    Reporter: Mr. President, your words-

You had people in that group — excuse me, excuse me — I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.
Reporter: Do you support white nationalists, then?

The one part that I really hate of the entire Trump response where he tells what you and everyone thinks.

Trump: Well, I do think there's blame- Yes. I do think there's blame on both sides. You look at both sides. I think there's blame on both sides and I have no doubt about it and you don't have any doubt about it either and- and- and- and if you reported it accurately, you would say it.
To say everyone thinks exactly like him is abhorrent and illogical. When has everyone agreed 100% on anything? We can't even get 100% of people to agree that the earth is round.

It is a propaganda tool used by Trump to warp reality and a outright lie. This is the alternative reality bubble that Trump lives in. He has been so spoiled since he was a child and his parents warped his reality that he firmly believes that the world revolves around him, everyone agrees with his world view and everyone is his subject.

Don't tell me what I think about what happened in Charlottesville when I saw white men with torches shouting "blood and soil!". Not one of them were fine people. Not one. They are racists and fascists.

However, there's a recording of him saying this:

New Omarosa recording indicates Trump has no idea what’s happening in his own White House

On Monday morning, Omarosa Manigault-Newman released a secret recording of a conversation with President Trump she says took place the day after she was fired from her role as assistant to the president last December.

Assuming he wasn’t pretending to be out of the loop, the tape indicates Trump — who forged a reputation for ruthlessly firing people during his career as a reality television star — had no idea what was taking place in his own White House.

“Omarosa, what’s going on? I just saw on the news that you’re thinking about leaving — what happened?” Trump can be heard saying, seemingly unaware his Apprentice co-star had already been fired from her nebulous White House job.

“General Kelly came to me and said that you guys wanted me to leave,” Omarosa replied.

“No. Nobody even told me about it,” Trump said. “You know, they run a big operation, but I didn’t know it. I didn’t know that. Goddamn it! I don’t love you leaving at all.”

    "Alternative facts"

See Rudy lie. Lie, Rudy, lie. See Rudy give three different versions of reality for one question.

This Sunday, in an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union, Giuliani appeared to be caught out in another lie, and to drop another in his series of bombshells. Asked about Trump’s request to former FBI director James Comey that he “give a break” to former national security advisor Michael Flynn, Giuliani at first claimed there had never been such a conversation.

Jake Tapper: So you’re saying that President Trump and James Comey never discussed Michael Flynn?

Giuliani: That is what [Trump] will testify to if he is asked that question.
Then, reminded that he had already discussed the conversation he was claiming never happened, Giuliani attempted to deny that conversation.

Giuliani: I never … I never told ABC that. That’s crazy. I never said that.

Which is when CNN went to the tape. However, while forced to admit—after watching himself discuss it—that he had previously accepted the reality of the conversation between Trump and Comey, Giuliani this week shifted his claim to say that was only “talking about their version of it.”

    Ethics are for losers! Sad!

Trump offers White House staffers discounted merch from his golf club

Virginia Canter, chief ethics counsel at Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, and a former associate counsel in the Obama and Clinton administrations, said the practice of offering any discounts to people identified by their Secret Service pins was “absolutely wrong.”

Discounts are not prohibited by the Office of Government Ethics if they are available to all government employees, or if it’s a standardized discount. But if they are not, the discount is considered a gift. Federal officials are also prohibited from accepting gifts in excess of $20, and urged to decline any gifts "when accepting them would raise concerns about the appearance of impropriety."

Well, there's one word we know he has no trouble saying.

Trump spokesperson denies strategizing about N-word tape, is proven a liar just hours later

On the tape, Pierson can be heard saying of Trump’s alleged N-bomb, “I am trying to find out at least what context it was used in to help us maybe try to figure out a way to spin it.”

“He said it,” Pierson adds. “He is embarrassed.”

After CBS played the tape, Pierson abruptly reversed course, releasing a new statement on Tuesday confirming that the Trump campaign did indeed strategize about a tape of Trump saying the N-word. But she still attempted to pin blame on Omarosa.

So somebody overheard another person saying that they allegedly heard Trump say something on a tape?

Why are "professional" journalists even reporting this 3rd hand rumor?

    Peak fake news.

Trump calls a former female staffer he hired, a "dog". Well about the only thing you can credit Trump for is not calling her the 5 letter 'B' word...
Well being classy is not Trump's strength, nor is nuance. When they are loyal to him, they are "great" or "terrific people", but after they discover Trump's loyalty is a only a one way street and leave they become "dogs" or "terrible" or the "worst". Of course, there is little honour among thieves as they say and Trump does not hire people for their fine moral qualities or good character, so don't be surprised if they also screw up and get fired. He mostly looks for some reflection of himself, but yet expects some strange one way loyalty and competence. No wonder the White House has such a revolving door.

It doesn't do any good to keep the US ship of state moving forward, with all this shuffling the deck chairs and petty back stabbing and bickering going on at the White House. Its as if Caligula's Rome has arrived at the Potomac and Donald is getting ready soon to pull out his violin for his solo finale performance, which of course he will think is masterful and inspired, even if no one else does.

Can you imagine if this one issue had been the Obama administration. The Republicans would be voting right now to impeach.

Watch White House press secretary Sarah Sanders says that President Trump's description of former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman as a "dog" had "nothing to do with race."

This would be stupid questioning by any media person. Asking her, an employee, or anyone else for that matter to provide a “guarantee” about what someone else has said or done and might be on someone tape is completely moronic.

Trump has claimed he has never said it and that it's not part of his vocabulary. If he has never said it, then you can guarantee that no tape could possibly exist.

(I have never gone SCUBA diving so I can guarantee that you cannot watch a tape of me going SCUBA diving.)

If Trump has never said it, why would he claim to have called producer Mark Barnett to confirm that no tapes exist? WOuldn't he know that no tape could possibly exist if he has never said it?

  51. #6351

Because Trump probably had Michael Cohen pay Mark Barnett $130,000 to burn the tapes. That seems to be the going rate for Trump payoffs or $15,000 a month in installments. Who knows if Cohen kept a copy of the tapes as insurance?

Sounds plausible with this swamp full of vipers...

Trump calls people "dogs" all the time. Even before he was elected President.

His critics and political opponents need to get over Trump's words and semantics and instead attack the work he is doing, otherwise he and the other Trump Republicans are going to clobber them in elections.

Rump could guarantee it. Not his spokespeople. Stupid question that served to feed language for headlines.

Note that the CNN writer in the article below didn’t provide Welker’s question in quotations nor even the put quotation marks around guarantee as in: “asked Sanders whether she could “guarantee” the ...”. That would have highlighted the fact that the reporter pulled the trigger on this one. Asking a person that can never know all the facts to offer up a guarantee of knowing all the facts is a similar tactic to the old question: “When did you stop beating your wife.”

Then the headlines all read like: ‘Sanders “can’t guarantee”... ’. It’s a subtle form of news creation of embellishment and manipulation of public perceptions.

Why Sarah Sanders' 'can't guarantee' answer matters so much - CNNPolitics

“Then NBC's Kristen Welker asked Sanders whether she could guarantee the American public that Trump has never used that particular racial epithet on tape. "I can't guarantee anything, but I can tell you that the President addressed this question directly," Sanders replied. “
