Cohen made a cool $250,000 to draw up the agreement. You'd think that a simple transfer of $1.6 million would cost a lot less than that. Unless there's a lot more than simply "At the end of our relationship, this woman shared with me that she was pregnant. She alone decided that she did not want to continue with the pregnancy and I offered to help her financially during this difficult period.” Of course, with the Trump/GOP connection, it's also a NDA. Can't have someone talking about a consensual relationship now, can we?

Michael Cohen #1 client is Donald Trump

Michael Cohen #2 client is Elliott Broidy, for who Cohen arranged for a $1.6 million hush payout to a former Playboy model after Elliott Broidy, a top donor to the Republican Party who had impregnated her last year.

Let's see. Cohen has worked as Trump's "fixer", paying off the women he's had affairs with.

Cohen worked as Briody's "fixer", paying off the woman he had an affair with.

Get ready for the skeletons to start emerging from Hannity's closet.

Hannity, on Air, Says Cohen Never Represented Him: Cohen Update - Bloomberg
    Excerpt:
    “...

    ‘Three Legal Clients’ (2:34 p.m.)

The Justice Department says Cohen has more attorneys of his own than he has clients, challenging Cohen’s prior claim that the materials swept up in the FBI raids included thousands of documents protected by the attorney-client privilege.

“His letter admits this morning that he has only three legal clients, and this is fatal to their motion,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas McKay.

Most of the evidence seized is on hard drives and other electronic devices and pertains to work he’s done in recent years, McKay said. Anything related to work Cohen did for legal clients would be a small portion of anything seized given how little work he’s done lately as a lawyer, he said.”

Fox News’ live reaction when Sean Hannity named as Michael Cohen client.
    Excerpt:
“Before a court hearing Monday, Michael Cohen’s attorneys said Cohen had three clients in 2017: Donald Trump, Republican fundraiser Elliott Broidy, and a third person he declined to name. That third client, we learned later in the day, is Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

This news undoubtedly came as a surprise to Hannity’s Fox News colleagues, including afternoon anchor Shepard Smith. Above, watch how they reacted live in the hour after the news broke.”

I suppose his viewers would probably understand a heart felt "I am really p*ssed about this, because MY lawyers office just got raided!", so I am not sure why he didn't come out and say it, instead of just trying to hide behind moral indignation.

However, it does show another of the close and dubious connections in Trump world. Its like an amusement park hall of mirrors, where everything is distorted and where nothing is as it appears to be at first glance.

It's been mentioned before that Trump doesn't handle emails himself, and that if you want to get ahold of Trump you would have had to email Hope Hicks. If the government seized emails from Cohen to Trump through Hope Hicks, then the "attorney/client privilege" wouldn't apply, as Hicks is a third party. In fact, you can't claim it if someone else is in the room for a discussion between a client and his attorney.

Yes, you can. If you're talking about the conversation between the client and attorney. Privilege doesn't go poof there, and if it did that would be completely ridiculous. If it just goes poof if a secretary, paralegal, or business partner is present then that would severely restrict privilege. However, the conversation between the client and the third party would not be privileged, just because a lawyer was present. I believe that's what you've misinterpreted. Trump and Co. have certainly tried to mix executive and client/attorney privilege in the public conscience, with his sons specifically claiming privilege because a lawyer was present during meetings. That ain't how it works.

Any other news network, newspaper, hell even a lot of blogs would have fired Hannity immediately for his blatantly unethical behavior of not disclosing his professional relationship with Cohen. For Fox, it's just par for the course. Hell, even his close relationship with Trump violates journalistic principles and integrity when he continues to "report" on matters involving the President. You can't, or at least shouldn't, have it both ways.

On December 18, 1987, based upon a recommendation from Senator Al D'Amato,[3] Wood was nominated by President Ronald Reagan to a seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York vacated by Judge Constance Baker Motley. Wood was confirmed by a unanimous United States Senate on April 19, 1988, and received her commission on April 20, 1988. She entered on duty on July 28, 1988.

At the time, it was legal to do so and she paid all appropriate taxes.

Meanwhile, another of Trump's "good people"

Neo-Nazi ‘Tyrone’ exposed as US Marine

Just weeks before a white supremacist rally turned deadly last August after a neo-Nazi allegedly drove his car into a crowd in Charlottesville, Virginia, several of the rally's organisers discussed ways to use cars as weapons in an online chatroom.

On July 17, one of those organisers, operating under the alias "Tyrone", posted a picture of a farm machine known as a combine harvester, writing it "sure would be nice". He then wrote: "Is it legal to run over protesters blocking roadways?" Tyrone's statements garnered media attention last August, but it was not publicly known who was behind the alias. That changed recently, when a n anti-racist activist exposed Tyrone's identity as Michael Joseph Chesny, a 36-year-old active duty Marine who was stationed at an airbase in Havelock, North Carolina with a speciality in explosives.

In more than 1,000 posts in an online chatroom called Discord, Tyrone gave detailed advice on how to fight in the streets of Charlottesville, and also posted a raft of racial slurs and statements pledging support for neo-Nazi causes and organisations.

    ---
On August 11, 2017, just hours before hundreds of white supremacists marched with torches through the University of Virginia campus, chanting racist slogans, Tyrone logged onto Discord, where he had been communicating with others for months.
"F*** islam," Tyrone wrote. "They are like mudsharks. Race traitors either convert or get the sword." These types of slurs were rampant on Discord, but Tyrone stood out for his more specific advice. In one instance, he advised others on how to build and use a flagpole as a weapon.

"[Are] you trying to impale people?" he asked other members on July 24, 2017. He advised to "Put a 6-8 inch double threaded screw into [two] 3 ft axe handles. If s*** gets real unscrew the bottom and go to town." Weeks earlier, on July 2, he wrote: "An abundant variety of tactics are how we are going to achieve final victory." On July 23, 2017, Tyrone posted an image of an armed man with the caption: "I am actually a US Marine who was born to kill ..."

Sean Hannity, Michael Cohen and the ethics of disclosure

Howard Kurtz By Howard Kurtz | Fox News

    “...
Here’s the problem: Hannity needed to inform his viewers.

Even if his relationship with Cohen was merely that of a friend who informally provided some legal guidance, Michael Cohen has been very much in the news. He is under investigation in the Mueller probe. He and Trump are embroiled in a lawsuit over Cohen having paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep her quiet near the end of the 2016 campaign.

When the FBI raided Cohen's office and hotel room last week, Hannity took to the airwaves to defend him.

"Keep in mind that Cohen was never part of the Trump administration or the Trump campaign," Hannity said on his show. He declared that "this is now officially an all-hands-on-deck effort to totally malign and, if possible, impeach the president of the United States."

But his viewers didn't know he was talking about a friend who has given him legal advice. That was a mistake.

The network issued a statement Tuesday: "While Fox News was unaware of Sean Hannity's informal relationship with Michael Cohen and was surprised by the announcement in court yesterday, we have reviewed the matter and spoken to Sean and he continues to have our full support."

Alan Dershowitz, the liberal lawyer who has become a Trump defender, challenged the host on Hannity's show Monday night.

"I really think you should have disclosed your relationship with Cohen," Dershowitz told him. Hannity described the relationship as "minimal."

"I understand that, and you should've said that," Dershowitz said. "You were in a tough position because, A, you had to talk about Cohen, and, B, you didn't want the fact that you had spoken with him to be revealed."

    Hannity responded ...”

No Mr. Hannity, it is intellectually dishonest that you attack the bipartisan supported Republican Robert Mueller's investigation as a 'witch hunt' and do not reveal that the key lawyer in the case was your lawyer as well according to Mr. Cohen statements in Court.

It is further dishonest that you do not come forward with full disclosure that you have been linked with other lawyers also used by Trump.

We are just glad that the real journalists and the independent press that you regularly attack, are exposing corruption at the highest Office in the Nation.

Report Says Sean Hannity Linked To Other Trump-Connected Attorneys, Besides Cohen
    https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...o-sean-hannity
Days after it was revealed that Fox News host Sean Hannity was a client of President Trump's personal attorney, Michael Cohen, The Atlantic reports that the political commentator has employed at least two other lawyers with links to the president and who are also frequent guests on his show.

According to the magazine, attorneys Jay Sekulow and Victoria Toensing sent a cease-and-desist letter on behalf of Hannity to an Oklahoma radio station responding to an accusation against the host made on air by conservative activist Debbie Schlussel, who said Hannity had been "creepy" toward her and invited her to his hotel room.

Hannity has said the accusations are "100 percent false and a complete fabrication" and the letter authored by Sekulow and Toensing charged that Schlussel's remarks were defamatory.
Sekulow, who has long been associated with conservative causes, is currently retained by Trump for the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. Toensing, along with her husband and fellow attorney Joseph E. diGenova, had been set last month to join Sekulow on the Trump legal team, but those plans were abruptly dropped over unidentified "conflicts."

The Atlantic reached Toensing by telephone on Tuesday and she acknowledged that she was acting as Hannity's attorney "at the time" of the cease-and-desist letter, but she would not comment on whether she still represented him.

"I've just learned in the press that anybody who is Sean Hannity's lawyer is going to be blasted so I think this phone call is over," Toensing said, according to the magazine. "I'm wondering what attorney-client privilege means to anybody. I don't say who my clients are, sometimes I do, and many times, most of the time, I do not."

The Atlantic reports: "Sekulow, diGenova, and Toensing have frequently appeared on Hannity's program; diGenova appeared on the show as recently as Monday night. Asked for comment, Hannity sent a text consisting of NewsBusters and Daily Caller links to stories about ethical misconduct in the mainstream media and declined to offer further comment. 'I don't have time for these silly questions,' he said."

The sad truth about Sean Hannity's deceit: His viewers do not care
    http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/s...icle-1.3939146
Irresponsibly, Hannity didn’t tell his viewers this. But the dirty secret is, his viewers just don’t care — which reveals a far deeper problem in our nation.
This seems obvious on its face. It’s a clear conflict of interest for Hannity to regularly defend Cohen and his star client without revealing one of the reasons he might be doing so. But his defenders say, not so fast. As Hannity has long insisted, he’s not “a journalist”; he’s an opinion commentator. And so he believes the standard ethical bar involving full disclosure doesn’t apply. Also, he’s made his support of Trump well-known, and can therefore, he claims, operate with the understanding that his interests and biases have been made clear.
Opinion infiltrated cable news long ago; that’s not the new part. It’s that even with opinion, there used to be an expectation by both broadcaster and viewer that opinions would be rooted in facts. This orthodoxy has eroded over the past couple of decades, as media outlets started giving platforms to conspiracy theories like birtherism and 9/11 trutherism. Increasingly, and especially at Fox, opinion is not rooted in fact. Instead, alarmingly, it is sometimes rooted in flat out fiction — and more often than not, in feelings. Hannity’s macabre obsession with former Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich — whom he suggested, without evidence, was murdered by Democrats — is just one disturbing but glaring example.

Other items are far more mundane and harder to spot, like his claim in March that there were 642,000 crimes recently committed against Texans by illegal immigrants, or late last year, that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit is “the most overturned court in the country,” both of which were deemed “False” by Politifact. And those are only the start: Viewers are not always getting facts along with his opinion.

But the uncomfortable truth, if his blockbuster ratings are any evidence, is that they do not seem to care.
Sean Hannity’s idea of ‘attorney-client privilege’ was right out of ‘Breaking Bad’

The Entire Island of Puerto Rico Just Lost Power

Darkness has fallen on the island of Puerto Rico. All 1.5 million customers of the Puerto Rican Electric Power Authority are currently without power.

This is according to the authority itself, which informed the public via Twitter Wednesday. As far as we know, power isn’t expected to return for another 24 to 36 hours. The power authority is prioritizing power to hospitals, the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, gas stations, banks, and emergency units (like firefighters) but is still investigating the cause, according to The Associated Press.

It was just on the news. They don't know what caused the power failure, but it should be restored in the next 24 hours

Just last week Trump signed a bill authorizing $18.5 Billion to Puerto Rico. $2 billion of it is earmarked to upgrade their power grid.

The media didn't spend very much time talking about this, nor how it is the biggest disaster recovery grant in US history. No, they had to talk all week about a porn star trying to resurrect her career by talking about an affair she had with the president over a decade ago, or something. People who hate Trump would rather spend all of their time talking about how much they hate him instead of giving him a ounce of credit for all of the things he has done well.

Part of the reason it's so big is because it's trying to make up for the last year of the Trump Administration dragging their feet & dicking around.

Of that total, some $12 billion is designed to meet "unmet needs" from 2017 disasters, including hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, as well as wildfires and mudslides in California.

Two problems. First, Puerto Rico is primarily Hispanic. Second, Texas is primarily Republican.

How Trump favored Texas over Puerto Rico
A POLITICO investigation shows a persistent double standard in the president’s handling of relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Maria.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — As Hurricane Maria unleashed its fury on Puerto Rico in mid-September, knocking out the island’s electrical system and damaging hundreds of thousands of homes, disaster recovery experts expected that only one man could handle the enormity of the task ahead: Mike Byrne.

But Byrne, a widely acknowledged star of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, remained in Houston, which had been ravaged by Hurricane Harvey less than a month earlier.

Today, disaster recovery experts still express shock that FEMA kept Byrne in an already-stabilizing Texas and didn’t send him to Puerto Rico for three more weeks. But now, the decision strikes many as emblematic of a double standard within the Trump administration.

The Playboy model wins her case...

Ex-Playboy model settles lawsuit over alleged Trump affair
    https://www.ctvnews.ca/world/ex-play...fair-1.3891193

LOS ANGELES -- A former Playboy model who said she had a 10-month affair with U.S. President Donald Trump settled her lawsuit Wednesday with a supermarket tabloid over an agreement that prohibited her from discussing the relationship publicly.

Karen McDougal's settlement with the company that owns the National Enquirer "restores to me the rights to my life story and frees me from this contract that I was misled into signing nearly two years ago," she said in a statement Wednesday.

In August 2016, the tabloid's parent company, American Media Inc., paid McDougal $150,000 for the rights to her story about the alleged relationship, but the story never ran.
Last month, McDougal filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles asking to invalidate the contract, which she said she was misled into signing. The suit alleged that the company didn't publish the story because AMI's owner, David Pecker, is "close personal friends" with Trump. It also charged that Trump's attorney, Michael Cohen, had inappropriately intervened and was in secretly involved in discussions with AMI executives about the agreement.

Federal agents raided Cohen's office and residence last week seeking any information on payments made in 2016 to McDougal and porn actress Stormy Daniels, according to people familiar with the investigation but not authorized to discuss it publicly. Daniels has said she had a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006. The search warrants also sought bank records, records on Cohen's dealings in the taxi industry and his communications with the Trump campaign, the people said.

Under the settlement agreement, McDougal can keep the $150,000 she was paid and AMI has the rights to up to $75,000 for any future profits from her story about the relationship. The company also retains the rights to photographs of McDougal that it already has, the settlement said.

McDougal contends in her lawsuit that she had only recently become aware through media reports that AMI allegedly “worked secretly” with Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, as well as her own attorney at the time, Keith Davidson, to buy her silence after Trump became the Republican presidential nominee.

Now it is revealed that AMI , the media company that owns The National Enquirer, who buried the story of the Playmate model was in cahoots with Keith Davidson, Karen McDougal's original lawyer. In other words, Keith Davidson was not really representing his client but clandestinely working with Michael Cohen, Trump's 'fixer' to bury the case and also did the same with Stormy Daniels who Keith Davidson also 'represented'. FBI investigators are investigating that Michael Cohen and Keith Davidson broke State and Federal laws in the suspected fraud case.

This obscure lawyer pops up in every Trump sex scandal
"I'm sort of in the secret business."
    https://thinkprogress.org/keith-davi...-c1848770d7e6/

If that name sounds familiar, it’s because Davidson also represented two women who say they had affairs with Trump, Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.

Both Daniels and McDougal now suggest that Davidson, under the pretense of representing their interests, was actually acting on the behalf of Cohen and Trump.

The three women have no known connection. The fact that Davidson represented all of them could be a coincidence. Or, it could be evidence of a corrupt scheme to silence women.
Daniels’ lawyer, Michael Avenatti, said that he found the relationship between Cohen and Davidson to be disturbing.

“As more evidence comes to light relating to his close personal relationship with Michael Cohen and his efforts to protect Mr. Cohen and Mr. Trump at the expense of his clients, we grow increasingly disturbed. … Mr. Davidson has no business doing Mr. Cohen’s bidding for him,” Avenatti said.

McDougal has attacked Davidson’s conduct more directly. She alleges in her lawsuit that Davidson was secretly conspiring with Trump representatives.

She hired entertainment lawyer Keith Davidson, who assured her that the rights to publish her story were worth millions. Unknown to Ms. McDougal, Mr. Davidson was working closely with representatives for Mr. Trump while pretending to advocate on her behalf.
Davidson has had his law license suspended twice for violating his legal and ethical responsibilities as a lawyer. In the most serious instance, his license was suspended for two years for a variety of infractions — including not showing up for a hearing and mismanaging client funds.

Davidson told CNN that “he was contacted in recent weeks by Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, who encouraged him to go out and reveal what he knew about his clients and their agreements.” Davidson he decided against it after “he consulted with an ethics attorney.”
Looks like as soon as Michael Cohen's files were raided by FBI agents, AMI quickly changed their tactics and agreed to settle the case with Karen McDougal.

Looks like two of Trump's lawyers were playing the 'good cop;bad cop' game and now are being investigated for collusion.

Hello Lady, do you want to reapeat the statement you made? Here, let me do it for you...

"Stormy boring Daniels, god the media is an @ss"

    What could possibly go wrong?

I'll tell you right now what North Korea will ask for, nuclear disarmament on BOTH sides. Of course, the US will refuse and Kim can then claim victory. He got treated as an equal by the President of the United States and he offered to disarm but the US refused.

Trump doesn’t have a plan for meeting Kim Jong-un: ‘Just get me in the room with the guy and I’ll figure it out’

President Donald Trump intends to wing it when he meets with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, according to associates.

Sources close the president say Trump genuinely believes he — and he alone — can solve the geopolitical disaster on the Korean Peninsula, although he intends to figure out just how he’ll do that on the fly, reported Axios.

“He thinks, ‘Just get me in the room with the guy and I’ll figure it out,’” said one source who has discussed North Korea with Trump.

It is part of their strategy to get Trump to think he is winning. Don't think for a second that NK has stopped their program or any intention of ever stopping their program. They are just pretending to appease Trump and then execute their plans subversively. Trump will foolishly sign anything that is placed in front of him if it makes him look good for 's moment.

This is the one issue where I wouldn't be surprised to see him pull something off, depending if Kim is actually crazy or if he's a calculating schemer.

The only way Trump can get North Korea to denuclearize is to give them an incentive.

Kim Jong-un will accept Trump's offer for the annexation of South Korea under the North Korea regime and then maybe they will denuclearize.

Trump solves the nuclear threat (maybe), end the war, and get a photo opportunity when he signs the deal. For Trump, that is a win-Win-WIN!

Would I like for Trump to actually manage to do this? Absolutely. Do I think he has any chance at all? Nope. Remember how he said

“We want to create peace between Israel and the Palestinians. We will get it done,” Trump said. “We will be working so hard to get it done. I think there is a very good chance and I think we will.”

At a lunch later on, he was even bolder: “It is something that I think is frankly, maybe, not as difficult as people have thought over the years.”

    https://www.theatlantic.com/internat...hought/525267/

How's that working out for him?

He'll meet Kim (maybe, he's been wavering lately). Kim will put on a big military parade. Trump likes those. And when it fails, he'll blame Kim instead of his own "amazing negotiating skills".

North Korea is going to play him like a two dollar banjo. I wonder if they'll make a pee pee tape as well?
