    So much winning.
America's diplomatic power craters as Trump continues to make a buffoon of himself

Just 30 percent of people interviewed in 134 countries last year approved of American leadership under Mr. Trump, a drop of nearly 20 percentage points since President Barack Obama’s final year and the lowest finding since the Gallup polling organization began asking the question overseas more than a decade ago. The decline was especially steep in Latin America, Europe and Canada. [...]
The survey showed that approval of American leadership has fallen 10 points or more in 65 of the 134 countries since Mr. Trump’s inauguration, while it increased by that much or more in just four countries: Belarus, Israel, Liberia and Macedonia. It fell by 40 percentage points in Canada (from 60 percent in 2016 to 20 percent in 2017) and 28 percentage points in Mexico (from 44 to 16 percent).

Among NATO countries, 18 of 28 had 10-point declines or more, including Italy (14 points), Germany (21 points), Britain (26 points), France (28 points), Belgium (44 points) and Portugal (51 points). Even in Norway, which Mr. Trump singled out last week for praise, saying he would rather immigrants come from there than Africa or Haiti, just 13 percent approved of Mr. Trump’s leadership, down 42 points from Mr. Obama.

Paul Ryan is blaming the Democrats for the shutdown when his own leader in the Senate would not support the bill. What a farce!

    Four Republicans voted against including:
    Lindsey Graham of South Carolina
    Mike Lee of Utah
    Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
    Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.

    Right.

Blame the Democrats because they have the House, the Senate and the White House within their control and are such bad negotiators.

    A farce.

i lumped no one in with nazis and klansmen.

you are the one who continues to parrot the donald’s lumping imaginary “very fine people” in with them on their march and in what they seek to accomplish.

as for your desire to seek middle ground, there is no middle ground with nazis and klansmen. period.

there is no debate on the evil nazis and klansmen personify in their choices and actions. period.

if it’s your position that this dehumanizes nazis and klansmen, i can live with that.

So, fix it already. You said that you and only you can do it. So, what's stopping you?

    ‘I Alone Can Fix It’
Breaking with two centuries of political tradition, Donald Trump didn’t ask Americans to place their trust in each other or in God, but rather, in Trump.

I am your voice, said Trump. I alone can fix it. I will restore law and order. He did not appeal to prayer, or to God. He did not ask Americans to measure him against their values, or to hold him responsible for living up to them. He did not ask for their help. He asked them to place their faith in him.

Donald can certainly sympathize with someone in his party paying off someone and having them sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Republican lawmaker settled harassment complaint with former staffer: report

Pennsylvania Rep. Patrick Meehan (R), a member of the House Ethics Committee, used taxpayer dollars to settle a sexual harassment claim made by a former staffer, according to a Saturday report.

Meehan reportedly settled the claim for an undisclosed amount paid out of his congressional office fund, The New York Times reported. The fund allows payments to be disguised as salary and reported months later, but the Times reported the sum is likely in the thousands.

Meehan, a married father of three who has been involved in investigations into at least four lawmakers for similar claims in recent months, was accused of professing romantic desires to a staffer after she became involved in a relationship with someone outside Meehan's office. Meehan, who is decades older than his accuser, allegedly grew hostile when she did not accept his romantic overtures.

GOP strategist: Shutdown is on Trump and GOP

Republican strategist John Weaver said Saturday that blame for the government shutdown falls on President Trump and the GOP.

“Trump created the [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program] crisis. The congressional wing of the GOP refused to fund CHIP. Trump & GOP ignored the pleas of the Pentagon for a fully funded budget. All of this is on them,” Weaver said.

Michael Wolff Suggests Trump Is Having an Extramarital Affair “Now”

The revelation came when Maher asked Wolff if there was anything in the book that he wishes people would ask him about. “There is, but I can’t tell you what it is,” Wolff said. “Well, **** you, Mike,” Maher responded. Wolff then went on to say he was “absolutely sure” of the information but it was so “incendiary” and he didn’t have the “ultimate” proof. “I didn’t have the blue dress,” he added, in a clear reference to Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton. Maher got excited: “It’s somebody he’s ******* now?” Wolff said “yes” but didn’t elaborate. He did make it clear though there are hints in his book. “You just have to read between the lines,” he said. “Now that I’ve told you, when you hit that paragraph, you’re gonna say bingo.”

$130,000 at minimum. And apparently there were a hundred during the campaign.

Steve Bannon suggests Trump's lawyer 'took care' of 'a hundred' women during the presidential campaign

Steve Bannon, President Donald Trump's former top strategist, alleged in journalist Michael Wolff's tell-all book about the Trump White House that the president's longtime attorney, Marc Kasowitz, "took care" of 100 women during the presidential campaign.

"Look, Kasowitz has known [Trump] for twenty-five years. Kasowitz has gotten him out of all kinds of jams," Bannon reportedly said. "Kasowitz on the campaign — what did we have, a hundred women? Kasowitz took care of all of them."

This apparently off-hand remark may take on new significance after The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that another lawyer for the president, Michael Cohen, sent $130,000 to a porn star just weeks before the 2016 presidential election to keep her silent about an alleged 2006 sexual encounter with Trump.

    http://www.businessinsider.com/banno...d-women-2018-1

Maybe that's where the missing inauguration money went.
TRUMP'S INAUGURATION MONEY IS STILL MISSING ONE YEAR AFTER HIS ADMINISTRATION TOOK CONTROL OF THE WHITE HOUSE

Almost one year after President Donald Trump took the oath of office, millions of dollars from his leftover inauguration funds have still not been donated to the charities they were promised to.

Trump's inauguration committee raised a record-breaking $107 million as his administration prepared to assume the White House last year, but very little has been disclosed about where the remaining money was allocated. As the one-year anniversary of Trump's inauguration approaches, a government watchdog group is questioning why the funds disappeared, and a congressman is proposing legislation to keep future administrations from obscuring their own inaugural donations.

    http://www.newsweek.com/trump-inaugu...missing-783934
Let's see, $130,000 times 100 women "taken care of during the campaign" equals $13,000,000. A drop in the bucket from $107, 000,000

Sen. Tammy Duckworth, who had both of her legs blown off when the helicopter she was piloting was hit by an RPG in Iraq, isn't having any of Trump's ****.

Duckworth slams Trump: I won't be lectured on military needs by a 'five-deferment draft dodger'

“I spent my entire adult life looking out for the well-being, the training, the equipping of the troops for whom I was responsible,” she continued. “Sadly, this is something that the current occupant of the Oval Office does not seem to care to do — and I will not be lectured about what our military needs by a five-deferment draft dodger.”

“And I have a message for cadet bone spurs: If you cared about our military, you'd stop baiting Kim Jong Un into a war that could put 85,000 American troops, and millions of innocent civilians, in danger."

During an interview on Meet the Press, host Chuck Todd asked Short how running an ad blaming Democrats for murders is “helping a negotiation today” to reopen the government. Since the ad was created by the Trump campaign, it ends with President Trump saying that he “supports this message” as is required by law.

He's attempting to discredit the media that is telling the truth, and replacing it with his own brand of fake news (fox news is really bad for this)... Facebook, texts, twitter, whatapp, skype, etc are how fake news is spread when no one bothers to fact check what Grandma or Grandpa shared last night. Instead of demanding a better job with honesty, accuracy, and completeness in the media's reporting, the left is trying to silence the media's critics by putting pressure on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc to change their algorithms so certain outlets get pushed to the top, or by demonetizing some people on Youtube who support Trump.

    wow.

    Just...

    unreal

No one here is stopping you from posting. You might want to check the tinfoil levels in your hat. You might be picking up, or blocking the wrong signals again.

Facebook/reputable social media services are trying to stop fake news sites from propagating and filling people with garbage. Social media has allowed stupid people to easily share and re-post misinformation, and trash posts without any regards of facts or truth behind it.

And I love how anytime someone who doesn't support your view point gets called "the left" in an attempted negative tone...

Evidently our "personal attacks" on MrOilers where we unfairly use his own words & stated positions to use unfortunate-but-accurate terms like "racist", "fascist", "authoritarian", "illiberal", "regressive" when describing said words/positions have a negative impact on MrOilers feelings about whether C2E is an appropriate place to share his beliefs.

I think this is FANTASTIC & is entirely the point of my constant calling out of his toxic vitriol. Keep that crap in your own head where it can do the minimum amount of damage.

????? you do realize the loss of net neutrality will increase the monetization of on-line users and reduce even further the ability to disseminate information - particularly information your "provider" doesn't concur with don't you?

and you do realize who initiated that loss don't you?

aaaw, your provider no longer wants you be able to access c2e or [insert site of your choice here] at anything other than a snail's pace determined to stop your visiting anymore? too bad, you will soon be able to thank the donald for that too.

some supporters here are trying to stop you from posting some of what you post (which is not the same as trying to stop you from posting by the way)? at least they're not taking away your right to post and your right to read...

What you just posted is a great example of EXACTLY what the left does. Instead of using logic and good arguments, this is the tactic used. And when enough people do it, it leads to dangerous collectivism and is how countries become communist:

Step 1: publicly attack/shame people who have opposing thoughts and beliefs in an effort to silence them
Step 2: pile on, bully people for having opposing beliefs to attempt to silence them
Step 3: appeal to authorities to get someone to stop the person from communicating their thoughts and beliefs
Step 4: make people with opposing thoughts and beliefs disappear

But if you keep going, you’re sending a message to people who are rooting for you, who are agreeing with you. The message is that they can do it, too.”

Uhh so no one has stopped you from posting. I wish you would stop posting trump rubbish to, but im not going to stop you, unless you start breaking rules of this site, like pm’ing people who have asked you repeatedly to stop. I actual enjoy seeing each and everyone of your posts logically torn up, and watching you just outright dismiss or ignore it and continue on as if you hadnt been proven dead wrong repeatedly.

And your quote fro breitbart?!!????? Reallly? Next youll post from alex jones too!!

no one is bullying you, piling on to you, etc. you seem to have a bad grasp on the differences between actual provable facts, and opinions not based on anything. No one is shaming you personally, just shaming you on what you post. nobody knows who you are because you cowardly hide behind a nickname, and dont have the cojones to post with your real name, afraid your opinions on the real world will find a way to people you know and work with. You seem to think that you are being personally abused when you are confronted about what you post. You seem to think that everyone should just agree with you. You seem to think that anything that doesnt support your viewpoints is “the left”
or fake news, attempting to use “the left” as some sort of backhanded insult. Youve called me a leftie several times even though im a conservative

Grandma looks pi$$ed silly old fool. The Pussy Hats are just dumb. Trump making crude remarks about women so some women translate that into making/buying pink hats and calling them Pussy Hats. Those hats don't compute on any level. Just march, leave the hats at home. They look like a cheap gimic.

‘Fake news — I’m coming to gun you all down’: Michigan man arrested after threatening to kill CNN employees

According to CBS, citing federal court documents, the man began calling CNN last week, making 22 calls total to the network. “Fake news,” the man reportedly said. “I’m coming to gun you all down.”

“I’m smarter than you,” he said in a separate phone call. “More powerful than you. I have more guns than you. More manpower. Your cast is about to get gunned down in a matter of hours.”

Ah yes, someone threatening to kill members of the media based on Trump's "Fake news" rallying cry is a non-story. It would barely rise to the level of a mention if he hadn't been stopped. After all,

I get a feeling of how you feel & think about things. That's why I call you a racist. And a fascist. And a regressive, illiberal bigot.

I don't really think there's a valid "middle ground" between your views & equality. There's simply no place for your backwards, un-evolved, regressive rhetoric in a modern, inclusive, egalitarian society. Which is why I'm about as interested in finding a "middle ground" with as I am about investigating Bigfoot or Ogogpogo.

For a Canadian site, they seem to have an odd fetish for American nationalism. They peddle all the wingnuts' usual pseudosciences, such as creationism, global warming denial, and abstinence and abortion-related nonsense. Two of their environment "reporters" are lobbyist Steve Milloy and general crank Alan Caruba, a promoter of Robert W. Felix's brand of insanity as well his own. They also promote birtherism.CFP has also scrubbed a number of columns that apparently went too far even for them. After Tim Ball, one of their favorite sources for commentary on global warming, was sued for libel by two climatologists, they removed the offending material and took down a number of other columns he wrote. Judi McLeod, one of the founding editors, co-authored a brilliantly deranged column implicating a United Nations-backed global warming conspiracy, Harry Reid, and the mob as the perpetrators of 9/11, which was later scrubbed.

50,000??? how does the donald know how many there are if they’re missing?

and then there’s the matter of simple arithmetic... 50,000 in five months in prime time? let’s see - 50,000 in 5 months is 10,000 a month. 20 business days a month is 500 a day. 8 prime time hours a day is more than one a minute all day long.

biggest story in a long time? biggest fairy tale maybe. which would make it fake news wouldn’t it?

This is hilarious coming from a guy who doesn't trust actually respected news organizations. And KC, no, the National Enquirer isn't any better. It seems that the source of this is Jeff Sessions himself, though: https://www.politico.com/story/2018/...i-texts-358250

But the 50,000 number as usual is Trump being Trump:

“In one of the biggest stories in a long time, the FBI says it is now missing five months worth of lovers Strzok - Page texts, perhaps 50,000, all in prime time. Wow!” Trump wrote online. His tweet appeared to confuse the number of missing texts, which is unknown, with the overall 50,000 texts between FBI agent Peter Strzok and bureau lawyer Lisa Page that were discovered on Justice Department servers.
Use better sources, seriously. We'll see what comes of this, but it all reeks of an attempt to distract from the Russia/Mueller investigation and cast doubt on the FBI, which is absolutely despicable given that it's coming from the Attorney General himself.
