    Inter-galactic adventure, memorable music and charming comedy await, as Movies on the Square presents Guardians of the Galaxy 2, featuring the return of Marvel's favourite motley crew of reformed outlaws. Grab your lawn chair and a blanket and come down to to watch this epic film on a three-storey high movie screen.

    Arrive early to enjoy some terrific pre-movie entertainment, including dancing, roving characters, face painting, games, draws and activities. Snacks will be available for purchase at on-site concessions.

    Date: Tuesday, August 15, 2017
    Time: Pre-movie entertainment at 7 p.m. Movie begins 15 minutes after sunset (approximately 9:15 p.m.)
    Location: Sir Winston Churchill Square (102A Avenue and 100 Street)
    Admission: Free

    Ian, I've always been curious... do you know what the costs are involved for a public screening like this? (the costs to actually screen the movie, nothing else).

    Finally, a movie I would consider going to. Most of the films they've showed have been Disney/Pixar cartoons for kindergarten kids.

    Edmonton welcomed the frickin Guardians of the Galaxy in their second volume to Churchill Square with a full square on Tuesday. The crowd seemed to have a lot of fun. Thanks for posting about it Ian.



    Beauty and the Beast is next week, with the following week to be announced.

    The City Hall, Library and Canada Place parkades provide secure heated underground parking at great rates. Parking is available in the City Hall Parkade, located at #1 Sir Winston Churchill Square, for $2 per hour from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Parking at the Library Parkade, located at 10165-100 Street (with entrances at 99 Street and 100 Street), and the Canada Place Parkade, located at 9700 Jasper Avenue (entrance at 97 Street) will be available from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. at a rate of $2.50 per half hour to a maximum of $10.
