Saw them twice, not interested in seeing them again, especially without Buckingham.

Thing is, with any Senior Citizen band you kind of expect cancellations and late ones. Mac have cancelled and rescheduled 3 different shows in Edmonton. One in 90's, then around 2005, and now this one. I think in total appearances here they are batting around .500. They are that kind of temperamental act and although they don't say who got sick any Mac fan would know who. For some of the same reason Buckingham says no to some of these tours.

The oddest thing is how this band could possibly need more money. I can't imagine theres many Fleetwood Mac fans that haven't seen them already. Great band, but nothing current. Buy the more than two decade old old "The Dance" DVD AND NOTHING has changed. Same tunes, same production. They've essentially become a cover band of their own hits being around 30-40years removed from any of them. Indeed Mac have been a non musical force for much longer than the dozen years where they did deliver their peak material. They could appear at a museum and not seem out of place..

    This may shock people but

    Christine McVie 75yrs old
    Stevie Nicks 70 yrs old
    Mick Fleetwood 71
John McVie 73 in a week.

Not cute little pie faces anymore. More like masks of makeup to hide the faces.

Apparently it was Stevie Nicks. Something with her voice.

I see that KISS is touring again next year..."End of the Road" tour - surmising at least 3 shows at Rogers......geez - when was the last time they were here. Saw them at Rexall in '96/'97 at their last supposed last tour. With no more KISS and Motley - what old school rock band is left to tour? Nothing with Chris Cornell, U2 - good but not part of this genre, Gn'R - too sporadic to probably ever tour again. Metallica - yeah they'll be around for a long time. Looks the Stones are still touring - but who cares. Mainden is probably only the last true hard core band left worth ever seeing live. Hey, has Van Halen EVER been to town? I've seen them in the States on their last Lee Roth tour, but never here.....did they ever tour here in '84 on their '84 tour?

Van Halen played Edmonton Coliseum back in 79, again in 95, played again in 2004, can't remember when else.
79 show would have been particularly interesting

Oh, they've played here regularly, several times, I just gave some of the dates.

For instance VH played here in 79, 80, 81, 84

However if anybody missed 84 show they were not back here til 95.

84 show had a particularly good setlist.

I think it was one of those concerts that sold out in hours even before online sales.

setlist fm is an interesting site to check out past concerts or to establish what setlists will be for current ones.

Can play all the songs as well. Its funny how VH early on were considered kind of punk Rock. Maybe just because they covered the Kinks, but go to "you really got me" and David Lee Roth is just evoking standard American Rock. Basically identical stage presence to Jim Dandy from Black Oak Arkansas. Same stage presence.
