Default Scramble crosswalk two locations in Edmonton - good idea?

Noticed this on my morning commute along Jasper Avenue. Just appeared overnight. Not sure how I feel about it just yet. https://www.edmonton.ca/transportati...mbles.aspxCity website acknowledges" Installing these pedestrian scrambles can impact vehicle, transit, and pedestrian travel times" but it is all in the aim of pedestrian safety. It is a pilot at this point but it is brutal trying to turn left onto 104 street off Jasper in the morning at the best of times, now I get to look forward to sitting there even longer during a all-way stop so pedestrians can cross diagonally? Ugh. Add that to all the downtown construction, I guess this is the City's way of ensuring we stop driving downtown all together which seems to be the master plan..There I am done with my rant for the day - blame the snowy conditions
