Those have been there since the late 70s, early 80s.

Not all the houses in the picture are that old and one that isn't that old appears to be sporting a balcony combination cliff diving platform. WTF is that on top of the fence in the first picture?

River valley bank erosion. That used to be a deck on top of the valley

The lower bank ones which should be at the Ft Edmonton footbridge, were built from the late 80s through the 2000s. Saw most of them getting built the years I was rowing up there. the high bank ones have been there a lot longer. why anyone would want to live in those locations now are beyond me. should be a min 50M ban on housing along the high banks.

I'm sure nobody will tell me exactly, but where would one find #BrandysLanding? That looks like a great spot.

Tis indeed, although tricky to get to and trickier to get on.

It is just past the AHD bridge in the SW on the east bank about halfway between the bridge and the River Ridge Golf Course.

Perfect! I'm going to try to find that on foot since it's so close.

In the day, (and no, I hadn't even been thought of, much less conceived) before the NSR was dammed by first the Brazeau and later Bighorn, steamers regularly plied the waters to Big Island for family weekend frolics.

Now, of course the water level isn't high enough and who dares commit heresy by suggesting an upstream weir.

We, err I mean they'd be drawn and quartered.
